Blue House is located in a private setting on Dow Road just outside of Deer Isle village and close to Lily Pond, a favorite swimming spot. While not on water, this cottage is just minutes from the ocean and is perfect for an inexpensive family getaway to the beautiful and rocky coast of Maine. It is also a great overflow house to rent along with one of our other properties in the area. Deer Isle is a favorite vacation spot for visitors who return year-after-year to experience the quiet, unpretentious island of Deer Isle/Stonington, accessible by bridge, and home of lobstermen, boat builders, chefs, artists and writers offering unique shops, restaurants and galleries. Take a day trip to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor and other area towns or just relax, hike and enjoy the scenery of the surrounding area. Internet access included.

What a gem!
September 10, 2021
We really enjoyed our week here and Deer Isle is a great escape from everything. The charming house was full of history and well stocked with supplies in the kitchen. Also, lots of books and board games. The trash disposal wasn’t clear and we didn’t see trash cans so we brought our garbage to the transfer station nearby. We hope to return some day!
Classic country cottage

Charming and cozy well-maintained 19th Century cottage. Convenient location on quiet street; handsome grounds with large yard. Good choice for a couple or small family. Steep stairs to bedrooms.
Sweet, rustic, cozy, quiet.

About a 15-20 minute drive to Stonington, and a 5 minute drive to the nearest grocery store. House is on a very nice quiet dead end road. My family, who live in Maine but had never been to Deer Isle before, came to visit and really loved the house and the island. Took an amazing trip to Isle au Haut. First trip to Deer Isle and the Blue House, but not the last.
Happy with Our Stay
July 15, 2021
We were very happy with our stay at Deer Isle. The quiet, the stars, the hiking trails. The house was very comfortable with everything we needed already in place. The bedrooms were cozy. There was a nice collection of games, movies, trail maps. You have your choice of charcoal or propane grills. The house is within biking distance to the village with a coffee shop 44 North and gift shops. 15 minute drive to Stonington. We look forward to returning.
Amazing

The cottage is quaint and cozy. It’s very old, but clean and situated on a lovely little property on Deer Isle, which is amazing. There was no key for the home; the first time we’ve ever stayed in a place that didn’t have one, but we assume this is because the area is very safe and we didn’t need one. The kids enjoyed the children’s books upstairs, and it was quite novel to enjoy a VHS movie in the living room. The home is a 15-minute drive from beautiful Stonington and the harbor, and one day we took the ferry to Isle Au Haut -well worth it and a beautiful transit. Guests should be proactive in communication with the property manager ahead of their stay.
A Great Home Base
June 5, 2021
Cute and cozy house on Deer Isle! We loved exploring the island and this house was a great home base. We loved Sand Beach and visited 3 times. We climbed around under the bridge at low tide, went down to stonington, had dinner at El El Frijoles, and lobster rolls from Its a treat.
Affordable

Very affordable house. Perfect for those looking to visit Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.
Nostalgic Place
July 3, 2020
If you are looking for old New England charm, this is the house for you! None of the cold anonymity of a recent suburban renovation here. An unpretentious, cozy and comfortable house that makes you feel you are returning to a place remembered from childhood. The spacious yard and quiet surroundings feel very private.
