Testimonials

Perched on the ocean

September 22, 2023

We enjoyed our stay very much! The house has beautiful views from almost every room! It’s stocked with adequate dishes, cookware and utensils and has plenty of linens for your stay. Location was perfect for us to explore multiple areas of the coast of maine. We would definitely stay again if back in area!

Maine Vacation

Had a hiccup with check-in but after that, it was smooth sailing. Lovely place to call home for our Maine vacation. 🙂

Simply Stunning

What a fantastic place. Wonderful house, the cleanest we’ve rented in a while. The view was simply stunning. We only wish we didn’t have to leave.

Great Maine getaway

August 9, 2021

This is a great little waterside cottage approximately 45 minutes from Bar Harbor. It’s not extravagant, but it’s a very comfortable home with three bedrooms, two baths, and a great deck overlooking the water. It was perfect for our family of four.

We were working remotely during our three week stay (great wifi), but we also enjoyed kayaking in the bay (and over to the nearby island), hiking on the roads and trails of Hancock Point, and looking at the stars in the evening. I took my road bike and spent a good amount of time exploring the area. If you’re into road biking, Maine drivers are extremely courteous, although some of the roads are a bit rough and narrow.

The home is a bit remote and it takes some driving to get to Bar Harbor or Ellsworth (nearest grocery stores). There are a couple of small markets along U.S. 1, but they have limited inventory. If you’re looking for a bit of peace and quiet, this is a fantastic place.

Spectacular

August 3, 2021

What a beautiful home in a great location! The views from the house were spectacular and the location made it easy for us to get to Acadia but avoid the crowds. Also, the house was incredibly clean and well maintained. Hope to return again!

Marks cottage

June 24, 2021

The Marks house was just perfect for our family. We were in Maine for a family wedding, and we took total advantage of everything in Acadia using the house as our base. It was perfect for adults and grandchildren alike!!! The location was beautiful, view was spectacular and serene(eagles, seals, loons) and we loved it! Kids loved walking in the low tide!

Constructive criticisms were that the floors were dusty and dirty, both in bathrooms and living space, as if the cleaners forgot that last piece of cleaning. Also, the cutlery was dull, with no ability to sharpen (stone was not adequate). We would also suggest more bowls for mixing and serving. The paper goods really did not meet our expectations, toilet paper, paper towels, and no kleenex available. A paint update on porches would brighten it up as well.

The plantings were beautiful and only enhance the magnificent views.

We had a problem with cable reception, and called Joey Smith, the caretaker, who immediately responded and helped get it sorted out! Very helpful!

We would certainly recommend it to our friends!!! Thank you for a lovely vacation.

Beautiful Location

Beautiful location right on the water. We had a couple of issues accessing the home initially, but the owners were responsive and we got things worked out pretty quickly.
