NEW LISTING! Located in a quiet and peaceful setting, the charming and roomy Red House has everything a family needs to arrive and settle in for their stay. With 3 bedrooms and 2 full baths, and well furnished with a spacious and modern kitchen, this property offers easy living inside and out. The large deck with dining table overlooks pretty Pickering Cove on Southeast Harbor. Dishwasher, washer/dryer, internet and satellite TV included.

 

Guests enjoy watching seals and a variety of birds, especially the eagles and osprey that live around the cove. A float accessed by a ramp allows for good swimming, and a canoe is available for exploring the cove. Sit on the deck or in the wooden swing chair and enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sun rise. Deer Isle is a well-loved summer destination that people return to year after year and the Red House is an excellent choice for your visit.

Excellent stay

The Red House was delightful. The property is beautiful; the house well-appointed, and the location superb. We rented kayaks through the listers and were very glad we did, as the area was perfect for kayaking to nearby islands and preserves for lunch, a hike, or a swim. Seals and bird life abound. A truly idyllic spot. The kids loved it.

One thing to note is that the property lies in a cove that is a marsh area when the tide runs out; you need to keep an eye on the tide chart to plan your kayaking and swimming. Also, there may be some years when the water is too cold for safe swimming but this year the water was plenty warm.

Great place for family

Nice house, quiet location, well-stocked kitchen. Waterfront access via the floating dock was great for about 7 hours around high tide. Kids enjoyed playing games on the spacious lawn. Convenient to towns of Deer Isle and Stonington.
