Property Description

Located in one of the most beautiful areas of Deer Isle, this 4-season, cedar post & beam house overlooks the bay and the many small coastal islands with the Camden hills off in the distance. Nestled on 2 acres of landscaped grounds, wooden stairs gently descend to the 220 foot pebble beach – an excellent location for swimming and boating.

Rugosa Way is a well maintained contemporary with ample amenities and a back-up generator with an open-space design that offers many unique features. A spacious kitchen and dining area open to the sunroom and out to the deck. The living area has high, gabled ceilings with windows filling the entire space and capturing the stunning views. Carpeted stairs and landing with a reading nook lead to the spacious master suite with king-size bed located on the second floor with a private bath, walk-in closet, sitting area, and exterior balcony. Two more carpeted bedrooms are on the main floor, one with a queen bed, the other with two twins. The basement houses ping pong and fooseball tables for added fun.

Outside, the large west-facing deck has some of the best views the Maine coast has to offer, and features cushioned seating and covered dining table & chairs. In the morning, lounge in the hammock and listen to the many birdsongs while watching the sun light up the Penobscot Bay islands. At the end of the day you will be dazzled by the colors of the varied sunsets. One guest told us the house feels like a warm, welcoming eagles nest, looking out over the many coastal islands. This is a one of a kind place to stay at while visiting the area.

This is a lovely property and we were very pleased with it and the accommodations.

Perfect Maine Getaway

October 26, 2021

The house was beautiful, warm, and comfortable, even better than what you see in the pictures. The property is very private, we hardly heard the neighbors at all during our week. The kids had a great time walking along the rocky beach during low tide collecting shells and finding sea life like crabs and starfish. A few of the trees on the property could go which would really open up the view of the bay but maybe there are restrictions on that. We had a great time and were so happy we stayed.
