Property Description

Wolfhound Cottage, a beautifully built post & beam cottage, sits at the end of a dirt road surrounded by moss-covered boulders and tall, wind blown, spruce trees – the classic Maine forest. A 110 acre, nature preserve is right next door providing ample walking trails. A short stroll (about 250 yards) through the woods brings you to the beach, a mix of sand, large boulders and rocky areas.

The interior of this privately situated cottage is open and spacious with hardwood floors and rough-hewn ceilings, giving the entire space an elegant but earthy feel. Colorful hanging buoys and oriental rugs adorn the interior. Enjoy the deck to take in the fresh, clean air and watch the birds or just relax. Wolfhound does not disappoint. One bedroom upstairs is situated to accommodate 3 (children over 10 please) with a king size bed and a twin bed separated by s screen. A fenced-in yard offers ample space for your dog. Even with Wolfhound sitting so close to the beach, due to tree growth the views are not seen from the second story. Cable TV and High Speed Internet!

Great Place

August 8, 2019

Pet friendly!!! Comfortable cottage near town. Kitchen and linen amenities need some refreshing up. Bring your own water! Hot water comes out rusty brown. The beach area is a tiny bit further than described but a great place at low tide to swim, play with the dog, hunt for sea glass, or watch the lobster boats go by. Note there is no water view from the lovely deck…you see the woods and a big garage from owners house (blocking any water view except from the upstairs window). Great fenced in yard for your pups or kids

Can't wait

We had a wonderful time at this beautiful cottage. Can’t wait to get back.

Most Pet Friendly Home

August 30, 2016

This cottage is the most pet friendly home we have stayed in.
The pets enjoy their freedom and the parents have no stress at all from opening the back door to the full fenced in yard with 2 exits & hose to rinse after the short walk to the beach.
The beach is down a dead end street for dog walking and the fisherman’s docks/cove make a beautiful morning walk about 200 yards.
Even the deck is per proof with a small fire & grill area. You really have a great feeling when you step out for dinner and leave the pets home.
