A vacation to remember

Property: Clamshell By The Sea

Hi, my name is Chris and I have a good size family! We were looking to go to Maine on our family trip this year since none of us had ventured that direction. We were not sure what to expect on arrival, we were all so pleasantly pleased. We arrived at a beautiful house in an awesome and peaceful setting with a private yard and access right on the water. As we entered the house, we were all pleasantly surprised by the clean, bright and quaintly furnished home. We had 3 floors to enjoy all with outside access of their own. It is wonderful to arrive after a long trip like ours from PA to ME (15 hours) and find a warm and comfortable home away from home. I’d like to compliment the cleaning crew for their work all around the house. We all had our own space for quiet, and lots of room for gathering for meals, TV time or just mainly enjoying the views from the decks. It is hard to fit in a summary of the feelings and thoughts about this home and our stay there. My children and grandchildren all had such a great time. We had ping pong tournaments in the garage and some enjoyed kayaking right from the back yard. We did a lot of day trips around the area and to Bar Harbor. If you are looking for an A+ to gather with your family or friends, I highly recommend “Clamshell By The Sea.”

This is a great little cabin right on the water. If you want privacy and a lovely view with direct access to the water, book it! There are seals in the water not far off the shore and the access to Blue Hill and other towns is very reasonable for an isolated spot.

Perfect Maine getaway

Property: Puffin Rock - New 2022!

Lovely house with lots of room for large families to spread out in several rooms. Bunk beds and one queen room are in separate area of the house, which is nice for teenagers or an individual family. Ample water toys. Kayaks: 1 tandem, 2 single adult, and 2 single kid. Plus 2 paddle boards and a super fun floating raft like thing that the kids loved. We spent a lot of time on the deck, which was lovely. Would definitely stay again. Thanks for sharing your home!

Beautiful & relax

Property: Pats Place

For our first time in Maine, this cabin was beautiful! Comfortable. Amazing views of the cove. We had fun watching fisherman digging for clams. The area was very nice, we run a few miles around the neighborhood. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park wore the highlight of the trip. One thing I would caution is that the house address does not register in GPS. So we were lost at arrival, but there is a street Papas Pl. coordinate was our savior! All in all, we had a wonderful relaxing time! 🙂

Picturesque home

This home was in such a beautiful setting. It looks like an artist studio and was left to look as it did when the artist lived there. Location is about an hour 15 minutes from Acadia. But location is worth the drive! If I come back to the area, I would definitely stay here again. My kids loved it too!

House was better than the photos showed, clean, the kitchen was well equipped and the location was perfect. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking from the house.

Incredible views - exceeded expectations

Property: Cadillac Views

The photos on the website do not do justice to the incredible views from this property – you literally look right at the water from your windows and the deck (just past the lawn in the photos). The house is very comfortable and had everything we needed. We could walk to the rocky beach out the back door, with a larger, public beach basically next door to the house, and we ate at Perry’s Lobster Shack (also walking distance) twice. The location is great for exploring the Acadia/Bar Harbor/Downeast area. We had a minor hiccup with the check-in, but Nicole was super-responsive and we resolved it quickly. Really, I can’t say enough good things about this property – highly recommend it!

Spacious and relaxing

Property: Eboleth House on Eggemoggin Reach!

We have enjoyed this house two years in a row. It is spacious, clean, and well appointed. Best features? The screened-in porch is wide and wonderful and has rocking chairs and rocking benches, so comfortable. I love the beach for swimming, the water is clean and clear and warmer than the open ocean. A bit of traffic noise didn’t bother us.

Sea Green was perfect for us: simple, comfortable, and in a beautiful setting right on Greenlaw Cove. The owner has done a terrific job to maintain the camp and couldn’t be more responsive and helpful with any concerns or questions.

Fieldstone Bluff

The perfect place if you’re looking for somewhere off the beaten path to get away from it all.

The grounds are lovely with a beautiful view of the water.

The home is very clean and well kept.

I wish I could’ve stayed for the entire summer.

We highly recommend the cabin.

Property: Beddington Lake Log Cabin

We had an amazing time at the cabin. We saw a lot of wildlife and the lake views were stunning. We liked that it was private and quiet and was an easy scenic drive to Acadia NP which we were mainly there for. Usually, we use our camper but we were looking for something that gave the rustic feel but also made a good base camp for exploring the park and Bar Harbor. We highly recommend the cabin.

Breathtaking water views

A wonderful, peaceful and private setting with breathtaking water views. We got a chance to experience Maine away from the crowds and enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets.

The cottage itself was immaculate and if you are looking to unplug and unwind this is the place to be.

Gull's Ledge was an amazing home.

Gull’s Ledge was an amazing home- beautiful and comfortable with lots of space for our family to eat together, play cards, do puzzles, and cook lobsters! We were an extended family of 8 ranging in age from 77 to 9 years old- and everyone had a very comfortable place to sleep. The views were stunning. The garden was inspiring: blooming Lilly pads in the small pond, all kinds of flowers and trees, beautiful porches and patio. We were within walking distance to the lobster coop, the mail boat to Isle au Haut, and to downtown. We also really appreciated all the information about local hiking, and trips to Acadia. It was an amazing week and we hope we can return. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home!

Best oasis ever

Favorite property we have ever stayed at. The best of all worlds. Secluded yet groceries and laundry, food,eateries, within 15 mins. Small general store 5minutes away. Quiet. Very quiet. Surrounded by beauty of lush green rolling meadow with flowers. But also awesome water views from just about every window. Wake up and see the water from master without even raising your head. The beach is a lovely walk down hill and you have it to yourself. I’m not saying it is a private beach but there is no public access around so only those properties along it really have access. We sat there for hours along the beach and watched the small waves come in. The house was spacious and decorated perfect for that NE water front vibe. I could live there full time. We are already walk-in of booking again. You are also a nice hour drive from Acadia Nat Park. A must see.

Fantastic screen porch, short walk to the water, large living spaces. Well-equipped kitchen, washer, and dryer. The washer and dryer are in the 2nd bathroom, I think in place of a 2nd shower, so we needed a shower schedule for 6 adults, but glad to have the washer! Close to our Maine family and friends – I would rent this again!

Property: Puffin Rock - New 2022!

We loved this property. It was large and spacious for our family of 10. Lots of room to spread out. The home was fully stocked with anything we needed!
 
We loved using the kayaks, grill, and fire pit. Contact with the property management company was excellent, though we didn’t require much because we had all the info we needed in the Welcome book in the home.
The property was very clean. We saw lots of deer, rabbits, and birds right from the house.
 
I gave the online details section 4 stars because it shows the home as 7.4 miles from Acadia National Park. It was over 1-hour drive to the park, which was fine, but before our stay, I was under the impression we would be a lot closer.

Wow!

First, the pictures in the listing do not do justice to the luxury of the cabin. The place was a lot nicer than we expected. In fact, we would have paid more. The place is perfect for anyone looking to getaway and unplug. There are no neighbors & the property is secluded on a cove. We enjoyed the tide coming in/out & sitting out on one of the 2 decks. The kitchen was well stocked with gadgets & utensils, beds were comfortable, couch on the bottom floor was the perfect lounging/hangout spot when not taking in the views of the surrounding area. This property offered it all. We hope to be back. (One minor thing is our GPS took us to the wrong location, so you might want to ask for detailed directions)

Fabulous Getaway

Property: Barnacle on Flye Point

A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds comfortable, and very clean, and the view is gorgeous… We even had a few seals stop by to say hi in the bay. The cabin had bug spray, sunscreen, and spices, left by other guests, so don’t go shopping until you get there. Major grocery store about 20 minutes away. If we travel back through Maine we would definitely stay here again.

Quaint Cottage for relaxation!

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from our busy lifestyles. This cottage right on the lake was the perfect spot! Hearing the loons in the morning on the lake made it a perfect paradise for a relaxing getaway. The views were so lovely! The cottage was very clean and inviting. Definitely would stay again!

The Pickwick is awesome! A perfect location to explore a mix of Downeast Maine and Acadia, Brooklin is a cute location w/ a great country store. No TV but you shouldn’t need one to explore Maine ;).

Perfect Get-A-Way

Dorsey Cottage was perfect in so many ways. Location was excellent, loved a glass of wine on the deck. What a view, that included sunrises and sunsets. Roomy for four people, yet cozy. Most certainly is a vacation spot, I would recommend.

Unbeatable views!

Amazing, incredible views of the bay and a little cove! We spent quite a bit of time watching the tide go in and out of the cove throughout the day and the birds hanging out on the sandbar! Very quiet area and cottage was clean and in good condition. Lots of local books to look at in the cottage. Beds were comfortable, but I wish there was a dresser or cabinet to put your clothes into!

This cozy cabin is a gem with a magnificent view of Toddy Pond.

The kitchen is well equipped for cooking, along with the gas grill outside. The queen memory foam mattress is amazing! We found the cabin clean and comfortable in a very relaxing setting. Sunsets on the pond are really special. Just know that the internet is very inconsistent here but the 4G signal kept us connected fine. We brought DVDs and games with us for the evening. Nicole was very responsive and accommodating to us. We would definitely like to return again!

A wonderful view out to the larger cove

This was an older but nice cabin that had a large stone fireplace for colder evenings, and also had electric heat that could be used. There was a wonderful view out to the larger cove from the living room and the deck. There was plenty of cookware for anything you might want to cook and nice space for four to to eat and/or relax on the large deck. We were somewhat surprised by the flight of stairs down to the cabin from the parking area, which would not be a problem for most, but did offer a challenge for a person with mobility issues. Otherwise, we had a great time and enjoyed our visit. The location is central with easy access to Stonington, Burnt Cove, Haystack or leaving the island.

Tranquil Getaway

We had the most wonderful time at Dorsey Cottage. The weather was far from perfect, yet it still was such a beautiful setting. The view from the living room is so lovely that even though we had a few days of rain, the setting made it so you didn’t feel the need to venture out.

A little out of the way, but with a nice view of the tides. We loved the fireplace, tea, and the board games. The whole house, especially the kitchen was very well outfitted.

Great, remote cabin on the water

We stayed at this cabin for a week and had an amazing time. The cabin is pretty far off the beaten path — it is a solid 15 to 20 minute drive to Blue Hill, the closest amenities. However, it is both right on the water and surrounded by forest. It is quiet with great views and accommodated my spouse and I very well for our time there.
